Atlantic Productions has made a series of key hires and promotions to bolster UK team
We are very pleased to announce recent changes to team here at Atlantic!
Mike Davis, a BAFTA-winning and Emmy-nominated writer, producer and director at Atlantic Productions has been upped to Associate Creative Director. Ian Syder joins as Head of Production, spearheading the production management team and working across film, television, digital and VR projects. Emily Smith has come on board in the newly created role of Director of Marketing and Business Development.
Mike Davis joined Atlantic in 2013 to supervise David Attenborough’s Natural History Museum Alive 3D, and went on to direct the series Great Barrier Reef with David Attenborough and produce the special David Attenborough Meets President Obama. His new role will see him reporting to CEO Anthony Geffen, serving as creative director across Atlantic’s television, IMAX, theatrical and VR slate. After starting his career at Framestore, Mike went on to work for a host of respected companies that include Darlow Smithson, Impossible Pictures and Arrow Media, before finding his home at Atlantic.
Ian Syder is an award-winning Line Producer/Production Manager who began his professional life on the Big Brother team, and went on to launch Deal or No Deal before moving into documentary filmmaking. Ian has worked on a number of acclaimed projects including the BBC Natural History Unit series Life and Spring Watch, as well as serving as Production Manager at Off the Fence, overseeing the “Wildest…” strand as well as the company’s first 4K Feature Film Colombia Magia Salvaje.
Emily Smith is responsible for Atlantic’s strategic marketing, commercial partnerships and corporate communications and lead’s the companies academic, cultural and stakeholder relationships. Prior to this she led the programming of temporary exhibitions, events, digital strategy and marketing at London’s Natural History Museum. Her career has spanned marketing and communications roles for London’s leading cultural organisations including the Royal Court Theatre, London Philharmonic Orchestra and National Gallery.
